This cake is very special for me as my grandmother used to do it EVERY weekend. Also know as Queen of Sheba or “Chocolate and almond cake”. The almond brings a nice taste and makes it super soft.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 125 g butter
- 125 g dark chocolate
- 120 g sugar
- 45 g flour
- 60 g almond powder
- Few drops of vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
- Melt the butter in the microwave.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave.
- Mix the butter and the chocolate, let it cool a bit.
- Add the egg yolks one by one, mix between.
- Add the sugar, the almond powder, vanilla extract and finally the flour.
- Beat the egg whites and delicately fold them into the batter.
- Butter a cake pan and pour the batter into it.
- Bake around 35 min or until set (test with a sharp knife). It depends on the shape of pan you are using.
